A'kum
FYI kami bercuti agak panjang, Easter holidays, so sempat le jalan-jalan ke kota london bawa sikecilku dan sebelum tu ke Scotland.
FYI aku baru melangkah masuk tahun ke3 baru2 nie dan tengah sibuk buat data modelling, baru meninggalkan programming. Sibuk juga menguruskan urusan berkaitan, bila paper accepted utk ASME conference kat Turin, Italy bulan julai nanti. Bagaimanapun tidak dinafikan perjalanan ini ada pasang surutnya, khasnya kita yg berkeluarga. Doakan semoga semuanya berjalan lancar.
Baguih le dengar ramai yg plan nak buat PhD.. Yang tersangat PENTING utuk buat PhD nie based on my experience ialah supervisor. Mudah cakap, senang susah kita bergantung padanya dgn izin Allah. Bidang ke, minat ke, specific area ke boleh datang kemudian. Supervisor tak boleh tukar lagi (Ada kes tertentu yg boleh le).
Kalau dapat cari supervisor yg ada Professor, Ada fund (kaya), tak berapa ramai PhD student, baik lagi dapat cari student dia atau bekas student dia sebab cv shj tidak menjamin reality sebenar wajah supervisor.
Buat persediaan awal boleh le jengok2 buku nie "HOW TO GET A PHD: A HANDBOOK FOR STUDENTS AND THEIR SUPERVISORS", PHILLIPS, ESTELLE

Yang terakhir ialah Soalan buat bakal supervisor;
1. Possible title of my PhD project
2. Possible objectives and scope of my research
3. Funding for my experimental facilities
4. Do I need to make appointment in order to meet up with you
5. Do you intend to appoint a co-supervisor for me
6. Can I get the opportunities to joint your consultancy group if there is
7. Can I attend related seminars/conferences related to my research
8. Can I finish my study within three years
9. Is there any possibility to produce papers in international journal from my research
10. How many PG students do you have now (Penting kalau ramai sgt nanti masalah, kalau kita 1st phd student dia pun masalah juga)
11. Do you have technical support to assist me during the period of my study
12. Do your University have relevance analytical equipment for my research
13. Did you works closely with industries
14. What is your preferred journal for publication of your research papers
15. Did you have any coworkers in this department/ Faculty/ University.
